knitting project: finished )

I'll do a hat next after I swatch up a little of this chunky yarn.

This has me a little worried. I mean, I was really thrown by them casting Ryan Reynolds as Hal at first, but the more I think about it, the more it kind of makes sense. Especially with their other choices. lol Justin Timberlake wat? This 'shop kinda sold me on it, though. Haha. I think it'll be cool as long as they don't try to make Hal too much like Guy and Kyle. Course, a Green Lantern movie is problematic in and of itself. Boring space battles with no ships? Blah. But whatever. Deadpool movie is probably stalled indefinitely. Kinda sad, but I dunno. I still think Ryan would take less money just so he could play Wade in a title movie. But maybe I'm overestimating his love of the character?

Speaking of comics characters, Wade's thief dance from last week's STYTCD will not stop making me think of Booster Gold and Blue Beetle stealing J'onn's cookies. XD I can almost see their costumes when I rewatch it. The characters fit. And it's a Roisin Murphy song and it's Wade Robson choreography and those two together make for pure gold. First dance I've rewatched this season, so that's saying something. Man, I cannot wait for the 100th episode to see them redance Ramalama. *grabby handssssssss*

PS: Neio, why are you so awesome? <3

Aw jeez. I am so tempted to pick up Pokemon Ruby and play it through again. :x I only ever want to play Pokemon when I have a new fandom picked out for the naming sequence. Darn it, not doing this, no way. Yeah, I'll be over here looking at Generation 3 and picking out who fits which pokemon best. >_> Sigh.

Spent a few minutes with my calculator jotting down notes to amend a knitting pattern to my own gauge. Gonna make my dog a sweater out of one of the horrible acrylic yarns we picked up from the resale shop. Not really because she needs one. Mostly because I need something to knit, and I also derive some stupid pleasure from putting one on her when she's being annoying. She hates her sweaters. But, uh, gonna work a big fat cable into the back of the thing and it will be awesome. Heck yeah. They are surprisingly fun to do and look great.

I found a 7mm dowel up in my room leftover from some project and sawed it into needle sized lengths and sharpened the ends up to knit with. So now I have two sizes of needles. Yay.

EDIT: Holy cow. Listen to this stuff. This guy's music is just always awesome. I wish I had money to buy all of it.

Found this band through SYTYCD and I actually really like their music. Kind of a weird mix of rap and electronica, both of which are cool in my book. Some songs:

3OH!3 - Colorado Sunrise
3OH!3 - I Can't Do It Alone

Got a few letters from my brother finally and it was good to hear from him again. I think something in me was convinced that he'd change by being down there and he wouldn't want to hear about the stupid things we always used to talk about. But he asked about all that stuff so I wrote him up an incredibly nerdy letter and sent it off. <3

Been geeking out pretty heavily on Digimon season 3. The Digimon bug always comes around and bites me every few years. I love that. Doodled Pyres on my bulletin in church the other day. Went looking for Henry icons. Read up on Alice again. I love that season. It's just so familiar and awesome, moreso even than the first two seasons somehow.

Went to the gigantic library downtown today. Mostly because we've read everything of consequence at the other libraries we frequent, but I also suggested it because I knew they'd have Adam Roberts books. None of the libraries ever have his books because he's a British author and they only come over to the States after they're not hardback anymore, so no one picks them up. All four (four!) of the ones I found are paperbacks. But they will be awesome. I can feel it.

Looked for Craig Ferguson's book like I always do, and like always it wasn't there, even though the catalog said it was. Liar. Hopscotch wasn't there either. I don't know how such an old book has eluded me for so long. Guess I'll just have to put it on hold.

Raided their gigantic four stack comic collection. I must have checked out 30 books. Captain America (Steve!), Captain Marvel, 52, Y: The Last Man, Hellboy. Bunch of other things I can't remember. Unfortunately whoever had 52 volume two before me decided to rip out half the pages. Honestly, the spine of the trade is so much thicker than the actual thing. I'm amazed I didn't realize how butchered it was when I pulled it off the shelf. Guess I'll have to read that one some other way. At least I get the writers' commentary, though.

Have many knitting patterns I want to try. Wish I had skeins of yarn that matched in color. Well, colors other than black, that is. Also, more needles. Or at least a cable needle. (Which will never not make me think of Nathan Summers. I swear, I will have to knit something in red-and-black intarsia with Deadpool's logo and cables before I stop giggling about it.)

Anyway. Finally got my computer to play music again. Finished Devil Summoner and can't stop smiling over it's great ending. Been reading old issues of The Flash and loving it. I've taken up knitting and I'm working my way through a scarf that's around a foot long right now. And tomorrow SYTYCD starts in on the competition. Exciting!

Uh. Been a while since I posted, huh? Whoops. Been kinda busy lately juggling stuff and playing through the new Devil Summoner game. I've sort of but not really been keeping up online, so sorry if anyone missed me. (haha) But yeah. Same as usual.

Devil Summoner 2 is amazing. I mean really. It hits my Pokemon nerve so beautifully. There are so many critters to collect and train and you can even fiddle with breeding to produce the perfect fighting machine. It's amazing. Pie and I have dubbed some of them Walking Warzones because the way their skill sets have fallen is just crazy. I'd really recommend it to anyone who enjoys Pokemon and can deal with a little PS2 action gameplay. (And occult themes.) It's a darn fun game.

So You Think You Can Dance is in full swing. This is my favorite show. I am excited. Cat Deeley makes me smile so much. Hoping they're not going to push a tapper through to win just because they think they can. But hey! Already a few ballroom dancers through to Vegas! And Chbeeb. :D Wootage.

Yeah, okay, I need to pimp this album by [info]renard_v. Because it's just really, really good. Listen to the snippet. Man. I like every song. I love four of them. I cannot get enough of Full On. I've been wanting to buy the thing for months now but with my budget, I just never spring for anything. It was so worth it though. Can't stop frelling smiling when I listen to it.

Dreamwidth is in open beta as of five hours ago. :D Course, I totally missed all the festivities because I was caught up reading Transmetropolitan. Great comic. Lovely realistic art. Full of the kind of SF that I just eat up. I honestly can't stop gushing about comics. I love them so much. I want to talk about them all the time. Time for that later though.

Let's see how this Dreamwidth crosspost feature works. :D Thanks to the loverly [info]paperover for her kindly invite. I've been excited about this site for over a year now, and actually seeing it come to life is so exciting. I've been trying to push myself to actually look around and comment, since I'm more or less an internet hermit. Slowly but surely.

Blood Syndicate is a really good comic. I enjoyed it and I'm sad about the butchered ending, but that's what happens when markets collapse. :( It could have been so amazing, and most of the art was just lovely. I'd love to own the whole thing one day. (Maybe in TPB? I can has TPBs of a decade-out-of-print comic, DC?) But I'm enjoying Static right now. He's a ridiculous nerd. He has Batman posters on his walls and plays DnD with his friends and makes Star Trek jokes all the time. It's like rolling in awesome. And apparenly Boogieman's gonna be in it in the future, which is double awesome.

I don't really read new books very often, and the kind of stuff I do read is never on the hip scene. Still, there are some books that I've read more than once because they're just really good stories. Books that I've bought because I really wanted to have them to read them whenever I want and to appreciate them.

Anyway, I started playing Dofus recently. It's confusing as heck and I've spent more than a little time trawling the wiki and the forums for how to do certain things, but it's still pretty fun. My character's is an Osamodas (summoner) on Solar server, if anyone plays. Named her Lantadyme after my favorite herb in RuneScape. :3 RS will always be better, but I'm enjoying it. Gonna have to kill my subscription to RS soon to save money. Blarg. Guess I'll be mining coal in f2p again. 85 mining? Sure dude.
